Nottinghamshire Girl Wants Her 18th Birthday Presents To Be Given To Homeless Dogs

Alexandra Clayton from Kirkby in Ashfield has asked her friends and family to donate to animal charity Jerry Green instead of buying presents for her 18th birthday in January.

In addition to this Alex has started a fundraiser to raise as much money as possible before Christmas for the homeless dogs that Jerry Green cares for.

Alex tells us “My 18th Birthday is in January 2019 and It will also be two weeks into the New Year, unfortunately at this time of year so many of the Christmas puppies will have been discarded and abandoned- the rescues will be full”

Alex continued “I’ve chosen Jerry Green as a local charity who do amazing work for homeless dogs and I hope that some of you might consider sparing £1 or any amount you’re willing donate. It all makes a difference.”

Alex has also organised a Christmas “Treat and Toy” appeal in the pub where she works and will be helping out with one of the Jerry Green Santa Paws events. The pub (The Dandy Cock Ale House & Gin Parlour) is arranging a smaller version of Santa Paws event in December and are also sponsoring a table at their Christmas Ball.

The fundraiser will end on the 18th December so Alex can have the donations already in place for Christmas time when they’re most needed.

If you would like to donate to Alex’s fundraiser you can here.
