The latest Government announcement on May 10
th
has paved the way for
certain sectors such as construction and manufacturing to return to work. It
also speculated that individuals who are unable to work from home
could/should return, but find suitable travel options to and from the
workplace.
Social distancing measures still remain in place.
The means by which we get to work will need to be taken into consideration
as Covid-19 travel restrictions will be in place for all modes of public
transport .
Naturally, employers have a duty of care for their employees.
At DG we have taken extraordinary measures to help reduce the
transmission of the Covid-19 virus for both drivers and passengers. How we
transport passengers has changed – maximum number of passengers per
vehicle, fitted partitions/screens and PPE etc to name a few.
We’ve also made additions to the fleet to accommodate some of the
uncertainty. If you need to arrange transport for employees, visitors, sub-
contractors or even arrange for individuals to undertake Covid-19 testing –
we can help…
Things to consider before travelling
Things to consider before travelling
Since the outbreak of Covid-19, DG have onboarded over 200 London style
Hackney Carriage vehicles.
Fully fitted partitions segregate driver from passenger providing additional
and robust safety measures against the spread of the virus.
Drivers are equipped with KN95 medical face masks and latex gloves as
standard.
If you have a vulnerable or at risk individual you need to get to and from your
premises, even someone that may feel ill at work and requires transport
home or to hospital you can request a Hackney vehicle at the booking stage
rather than a standard saloon car.
Additional room in the rear provides extra distancing measures for
passengers and vehicles are wiped down and sanitised after each journey as
a precaution.
Definitely not standard

Electric, plug-in hybrids, hybrids, low and ultra-low emission
vehicles account for over 45% of DG’s total fleet.
Our objective is to become one of the UK’s leading providers of
ultra-low and zero carbon travel solutions.
Not only are we an environmentally conscious supplier, we’re a
responsible one too.
For additional safety, the majority of the standard fleet have
been equipped with driver bubble screens to provide extra
protection against the spread of the virus to passengers in the
rear of the vehicle and again from passengers to the driver.
The new normal
Until all restrictions are lifted it’s not going to be
‘business as usual’ for the foreseeable future.
Reviews of policies and practices, operational risk assessments, social
distancing measures, face to face meetings, working from home and
travel to and from the workplace including business travel will all need
to be considered and addressed.
Our priority accounts team are still working and are able to receive
bookings by phone or email. Alternatively clients can book via the
online platform or app.
The sales team are also available and ready to discuss any needs you
may have via phone, email or Microsoft Teams video conference calls.
Cleaning up
Cleaning up
From pure electric taxis to an award winning, publicly accessible EV
rapid charging hub at DG’s Nottingham HQ we’re making every
effort to reduce our carbon footprint. As a business we’ve also
pledged our support to Nottingham’s 2028 Carbon Neutral Charter.
Whether using DG for business or pleasure, you’re making a cleaner,
greener choice and helping to decarbonise the UK’s roads.
Since lockdown, the reduction in tail pipe emissions has had an
enormous impact on air quality and pollution levels which alone
contributes to over 40,000 UK deaths per annum.
If environmental issues form part of your CSR, DG are an ISO14001
accredited organisation and will provide detailed CO2 reports as
standard.
We all have a really important part to play in cleaning up our future.
