My driver asked for the fare at the beginning of the journey. Is the driver allowed to do that?

Please don’t be offended, we have experienced a rise in customers not paying and so our policy now is to encourages customers to pay up-front. 

This is to protect the drivers.  We are the only form of transport that you pay for the journey afterwards and unfortunately a minority of customers spoil it for the rest.
